Frequently Asked Questions - Induction Banquet
What should I wear? The dress code for the Forum is business casual. A sweater or jacket is recommended, as meeting room temperatures can vary.
The Induction Banquet & Awards Ceremony is black-tie optional. For inspiration, photos from the previous induction ceremony are available here.
I'm being inducted. What if I forget my member type? Your member type will be printed on the back of your name badge. If you are expecting to be inducted but your badge doesn't indicate a member type, please visit the registration desk. We recommend taking a photo of your badge for reference during the banquet, as you likely won't have it with you.
How will I know when it's my turn to be inducted? The induction ceremony follows the awards ceremony. Professional Members will be inducted first. Distinguished Fellows will then be called in groups by last name: A-E, F-M, N-Z.
When your group is called, exit the Presidential Ballroom to the left and line up alphabetically by last name in the hallway. NAP staff will be available to assist with organizing.
What do I say when I'm inducted? To ensure the ceremony proceeds smoothly, please state only your name and academy.
When will I get my certificate? Membership certificates will be available at the registration desk throughout the Forum. Please pick yours up at your convenience. For any misprints, please email [email protected], and we will mail you a corrected certificate after the Forum.
